 David has a wealth of experience covering over 25 years in leisure
management, sports coaching and as an international athlete.
As an athlete he represented Scotland over 400 metres hurdles from
1978-1984. He then embarked on a coaching career in athletics and
was part of coaching teams for the 1988 Great Britain Team at the
Seoul Paralympic Games, 1989 and 1990 European Championships for
the Visually Handicapped and was Scottish Event Coach - Disabilities
in the mid 1990’s.
David also worked with the Great Britain Junior Athletics Team in
1993 and 1994 before being appointed the Chief Coach for the Scottish
Under 15/17 Team for 1996-1997.
He is actively involved in the sport of Indoor Rowing as a competitor,
coach and events organiser. As a competitor David has won the following major championships:
British Indoor Rowing Championships 2001, 2002 and 2006
Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships 2001, 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006
Irish Indoor Rowing Championships 2002, 2003, 2005 and 2006
He has also achieved the following successes on the global stage:
European Championships 2006 3rd
World Championships 2006 2nd
As a competitor David has represented Great Britain in five World Indoor Rowing Championships which are held each year in Boston USA. In 2006 he won the silver medal in his category. |
David Hislop also has experience of working in television and was Sports Therapist on the SKY 1 production of the Gladiators in 2008.
David is available for media work both in the UK and abroad and can provide Personal Training, Fitness Consultancy and Massage Therapy to individuals and organisations.
David has
represented Great Britain in the last three World Indoor Rowing Championships
held each February in Boston, USA. He provides coaching advice to
a number of indoor rowers in the UK and abroad and organised the
first ever Scottish Indoor Rowing Championships.
David now specialises in Sports Therapy and Personal Training and
offers a diverse range of health and fitness services including sports
coaching, personal training, sports massage, remedial treatments, swedish massage, indian head massage, rehabilitation and nutrition. Holistic treatments, Reiki and Facial Treatments are also available.
